What do I do during a dental emergency?

Accidents can happen at any time, and dental emergencies are no exception. Injuries, knocked-out teeth, severe tooth pain, and loose dental restorations are just a few situations that often require immediate professional care.

When instances like these happen, we'd like our patients to know that we create time in our schedule for last-minute emergency services to help treat your pain and manage any injury.

You must see us immediately to improve your outcome and to prevent future complications. We are honored to serve our Orange County community.

Common Dental Emergencies

We treat mild to complicated emergency cases, from toothaches to any abnormal oral health problems.

Tooth Pain

It can be stressful and distracting to experience relentless toothaches. They can make it challenging to eat, speak, talk, and do your daily tasks. It's never normal to experience pain in your smile, and it may indicate tooth decay, gum disease, infection, or an abscess.

Knocked-Out Teeth

Some dental emergencies can wait until the next morning, but a broken or knocked-out tooth is time-sensitive. The sooner we can see you, the better our chances are of saving your tooth. It's vital that you come to see us within an hour. We advise that patients keep the roots of their tooth from drying out by keeping it safe in their mouth or a cup of water or milk.

Cracked Teeth

Similar to a knocked-out tooth, it's important that you visit Dr. Roy Kim immediately so we can reattach your broken tooth.

Lost or Broken Tooth Filling or Dental Crown

While a damaged or lost dental restoration may not be a critical dental emergency, patients may want to see us immediately if it feels uncomfortable.
